Tri Star Airlines was created to operate flights from LasVegas to Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Grand Canyon. The airline received its certificate on May 10, 1994. Marketing agreements were signed with several airlines. Flight Operations started July 17, 1995. In 1996 the Grand Canyon service was dropped in favor of a code share with Eagle Canyon Airlines. At that time Tri Star started cutting back on flights until operations were halted on January 24, 1997.
